Summertown Stars U7s

My aim is to teach and encourage any children who are in my teams, no matter what their ability, how to play football ‘properly’.  I want players to be comfortable on the ball, to be able to pass to each other, to be confident in taking on opposing players without any fear of criticism, and play with a freedom of expression that seems to be forcibly removed at such an early age by so many coaches/parents scared of failure/losing a football match – or so desperate to win a match/league.

The under 7’s will have a year of fun, friendly matches against other teams and structured coaching with a view to working through the FA Soccer Star Challenge and FA Soccer Skills initiative throughout the season.

I am an FA Level 2 Qualified Coach and intend to study for Level 3 in 2008, and I have recently won the FA Grassroots Coach of the Year 2007 Award for the South East Region.

I am CRB-checked, hold a valid Emergency Aid Certificate and also coach Summertown Stars United u13s.
