The Summertown Stars U7s squad is comprised of girls and boys who are aged 6 by 31 August 2009 (but we may have space for a few five-year olds). Our primary aim is for all players to have fun as they learn the fundamentals of football. In this regard, one of our coaching strategies is to provide each player with maximum touches during training sessions through fun, yet challenging, activities and games. As an FA Level One Qualified Coach, my aim is to provide a positive environment for playing football. In this regard, players will be encouraged and treated equally, regardless of ability.

Although we are planning to play several friendlies (and at least one tournament) during the last half of the season, our focus will be regular training sessions on Saturday mornings. Training will be at File Mile Drive Park from 10.00am–11.00am on Saturday mornings. The first training session will be on Saturday, 5 September, and the season will end in mid-June 2010 (just in time for the World Cup!).

Registration for the 2009–10 season is open for the U7s squad until 3 October 2009. Please contact me if you are interested in registering your child for the U7s, and I will send you a registration form along with additional information about the team.
