TEAM SPONSORS:
We are very grateful to Aquarius Platinum for sponsoring the team playing kit.
Aquarius Platinum is one of the most successful platinum mining companies in the world and has several mines in South Africa. Summertown Stars AFC has set up a “Soccer for Africa” scheme whereby kit from the club is sent to Lwandle Primary School, which is a township school based in Cape Town. The team under 12 playing kit has been branded with the Lwandle Primary School log so it will be ready for the pupils at the school to use when it is sent to them.

Aims: The aim of the team is to develop the players’ football skills gradually so that the team can work towards playing 11 a-side. This is done by keeping football fun and by playing every player, no matter what ability they have. In this way it is hoped that the less experienced players will grow in confidence and improve their skill level. Of course it is lovely to win, but we believe that the results will come through by making football an enjoyable experience for all of the players. The best players are not the only ones who get a game – all players play.
TEAM CHARITY:
The team supports the Oxford Children’s Hospital (registered charity number 1057295) through various club events held each season.
